Associate Degree Nursing Application Requirements
- Complete the requirements for admission to South Plains College. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program.
- Students must be Texas Success Initiative (TSI) compliant.
- Upon satisfactory completion of the TEAS TEST, students will receive an application for the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
- Application for the Spring 2013 Semester and the following supporting documents must be turned in to the South Plains College Department of Nursing by September 26, 2012 at 12:00 PM. (noon)
• Official Transcripts: Official copies of all High School and all college transcripts in sealed envelopes (including South Plains College) attached to your application.
• TEAS Test Results
Admission to the program is determined by the Associate Degree Nursing Program Admission/ Academic Standards Committee. Applicants will be notified by letter of the committee's action. Due to limited class numbers, some applicants who meet admission requirements may not be accepted. Students must apply each time they wish to be considered. - All science courses must be completed within the past 10 years or they must be retaken. Students who have repeated any science course or combination of science courses 3 times without passing are not eligible for admission to the ADN program.
- All students applying to the ADN Program will undergo a criminal background check.

- The Texas Board of Nursing may deny application of licensure for applicants with felony or misdemeanor convictions (other than minor traffic violations), applicants who have been declared judicially incompetent, and applicants who are intemperate users of drugs or alcohol. The student will need to check with the Board of Nursing and complete application for a declaratory order. The Declaratory order must be completed before application will be accepted by the ADN program.
- Student acceptance into the program will be conditional pending a negative drug screen.
